Default 1st Bn London Irish Rifles

I have just acquired this superb shot of the CO and Pipe Major. Some nice details.

It has the IWM reference H1200 on the back and their website caption simply says Training in Sussex 1939/1940.

A very rare photo. What does the PM's caubeen badge look like? Very different from that of the officer, who indeed appears to be the Lt. Col.

Its was silvered.

Unfortunately it found a new home in 2016.
