Default A house for militaria collectors

Had a trip recently to New Brighton on the Wirral and whilst I have been there many times before I went to parts I had not previously visited.

I was most surprised to find the entrance to what had been built as "The Leasowe Battery " to guard the Mersey,a search on Google says it was decided after the entrance and walls had been completed that it was not really required as Fort Perch Rock nearer the mouth of the river performed the same function.

Later houses here built on the land and the entrance and gates retained.

What an entrance to your home particularly if you were a collector of militaria .

I often, jokingly, refer to my address as Lodge Towers.

Perhaps I should move to The Wirral.

Regards.
