21st(Air Mobile) Infantry brigade
Hi, Is anyone able to tell me where I might find shoulder flashes for the above outfit. I served two years with them in Kenya in the 1950s. Managed to lose mine which were sewn onto a tie. The ones I currently have are what looks like screen printed, but my original ones were embroidered.
Any help much appreciated. Geoff. |

Hi, The 21st air Mobile were just that(air mobile infantry) we were stationed on a swamp
in banda's(stables/barracks) about 20miles outside of nairobi. I was with the royal signals, attached to them. Means of transport was by beverley transports. Nickname(the fire brigade) always sent to hot spots. The shoulder badge was two wings(side by side) with a bar under. If I ever manage to get my scanner to work, will post a copy of the poor quality printed badge that I have. Regards. Geoff. |

Thanks for that. Below is what was worn by 24th (Air Mobile) Brigade, there are variations of this badge.

Hi 54bty, Thanks for that, your reply made me realize that my mind is going(well it was almost 50 years ago) yes it was the 24th of course, and the example you show is the one I am looking for.
Must go for a lie down now, after taking the tablets for memory loss(now where did I put them) Geoff |
