Default "Badges & Insignia of the British Armed Forces" book

A while back I promised Andy that I would lllustrate some of the pages in the Royal Naval badge books I have,
so I intend to accomplish that now & hopefully will assist others in showing illustrations & ID's of some of the pre 1950 badges.

I dont have any modern RN badge reference books,
all of mine are 1WW, & 2WW & post war periods.

The first one is the standard "Badges & Insignia of the British Armed Forces" -
3 authors put this book together -- Commander W.E. May (Navy);
W.Y. Carmen (Army); & John Tanner (Flying Services).
Its a very large hefty tome (a total of 367 pages), published in 1974 by Adam & Charles Black, London.

I got my copy in '75 & at the time the price was £25. Its now O.O.P. but I understand copies can still be obtained, if you could lay you hands upon one it would be well worth whatever price its going for now.
The Navy section, for the rate badges, only goes up to approx 1970, so it does not cover modern or current issue badges.

The Navy section is 118 pages plus the RNAS section in the Flying Services part so obviously I cannot scan it all. I will just include the cover & a page or two to give an idea of what the rate badges section looks like.

Thanks Bryan,

I have managed to track a copy of this book down and is very useful indeed.

A big thumbs up on your other posts also.
