Default Canadian chaplain badge?

Hi, this badge turned up in Australia but does not seem to be either Australian or British. It is very similar (but not the same) as Canadian chaplain badges I have seen. Any comments would be appreciated.

Default The mystery remains!

It looks as if nobody can tell me just what this badge might be. If it isn't Canadian or British, then what?

Hi kingsley, This badge is not attributed to Canadian chaplains. But, chaplains' badges were not as closely regulated as other services, and it may be a private purchase badge.

From my friend, the resident expert on all things chaplain:

"Hi, it's Victorian British. It is the metal equivalent of the more normal cloth and bullion badge that was worn between about 1870 and 1910. I don't think these were ever officially issued (just the cloth and bullion variety), so they were probably privately purchased or through some arrangement from a badge manufacturer."

Cheers.
