Right on Philip. Royal Canadian Corps of Signals. What is odd about the patch is the colour. The shape of the patch suggests either a corps or something like one of the two commands, Atlantic and Pacific, but the tan/light khaki colour is very unusual.
The CANADA on the blue rectangle is another oddity. It is similar to a division patch but the size is irregular.

I discount the blue patch with Canada flash as a fantasy thrown together without basis. The RCCS patch is intriguing because this is obviously professionally manufactured.
It could be a factory piece using scrap material prior to using up Melton wool. Just a guess in any event.

Looks like the first badge was produced with the cloth in the machine the wrong side up!

"RCCS" lettering is same as many I have, diamond shape OK but the material is wrong...must agree that it might be a factory test,machine setup patch
