Canada Cloth Shoulder patch

Seen lots of Canada in metal and in wool ect but not one like this.

Almost like denim, would the denim work tunic have such patches?

Was wondering what era is this?

A lot of titles were private purchase, and this appears to fall in that category. It was not specifically made for a particular order of dress.
