Australian Medical Corps Badges

I have a couple of queries regarding these two badges and would be grateful for some help.

I’m unsure about the genuineness of the lugs on the KC slouch hat badge and am also unsure as to whether the original finish would have been GM or whether the badge would originally have been blackened?

The QC RAAMC appears to have either been blackened or bronzed prior to being polished and I’m trying to work out what the original finish would have been (with a view to trying to restore it)?
