WW1 uniform?
Hi, any ideas on this uniform? I'm curious as to what the 38R No7 and the 17 1/2 mean, are these some form of measurement? Also what is the W? Thanks in advance, Mike

I'm sure that I'll be corrected from Australia, but to me the colour patch looks like the Light Horse Division, (Australian) Army Service Corps. I don't imagine they turn up every day, even unattached to a uniform. Mike

I don't know about all the numbers but British BDs were numbered for size, I think IIRC I wore a No 7 , well tailored and retailored to suit regimental styles every time I was posted.

Hi, narrowed it down to the remount section. It could be a Major Tyndall or a Major Paterson on the assumption that the 38 is a chest measurement. Still trying to work out what the W is for, maybe someone out there knows? Thanks in advance, Mike

I have had several KD uniforms with odd letters/numbers/symbols marked inside in ink. I have been told that it is most likely a laundry code
