Default c.1940 "PARACHUTE" Cloth Shoulder Titles.

Advance Warning - As a Cap Badge collector these titles will probably be offered for sale on my Ebay site or I would be open to any reasonable offers made by viewers of this thread. Please do not contribute if you object to me obtaining information via the Forum on an item intended for sale.

Could I please ask opinions on this pair of "Parachute" Shoulder Titles, they appear to be well used and if they are reproductions (?) someone has gone to a lot of effort to give them the appearance of age! Could I also ask if genuine what would be a reasonable starting price, should I offer them for sale?

Best regards as always!

Andy

Hello Andy, These certainly have the characteristic "spaghetti" mess of embroidery on the back that mark reproductions. Note the odd font on the lettering, very thin on one arm of the letters and the thick block serifs. Cloth is very easy to age.

Bill,
many thanks, your response backed by PM's lean strongly towards fakes!

Anyone want some fake ST's before they get returned?

Andy

It looks like a rather poor copy of this pattern:
