Default WWII POW Postcard

I somehow ended up at a stamp fair today, and inbetween yawns found a few nice bits and bobs including this POW postcard sent from Italy home to Auntie Hilda in April 1943. Just thought I'd post a couple of pics of it.

Thanks for showing, Tigerlily,
I guess you have to read "between the lines" here.
Regards, Tinto

Smile POW postcards home

My Father-in-law told me that when writing home from a POW camp in the Far East one of his fellow POW's wrote something like:-

"Everything here great, working for pay and you can tell that to the Marines"

The Japanese censor thought it was OK . . !

Thanks for that, haven't had time to look at it since Sunday, let alone do any digging.

A stamp fair, Allison, are you a philatelist, as well as all other interests, mentioned earlier?

No I am not. I have a few RAF signed by crew first day covers, and things of that ilk but stamp collecting does not appeal in any way. I dont have the patience for a quiet hobby like that.
