These are very interesting, did you acquire them from the late Norman Litchfield?

1. Not come across the 102 with a red bar across the top.
2. The elephant and howdah for 58 ATk Regt is new to me do you have any reference or provenance?
3. Only ever seen one of these hence the question at the start.
4. Thought as much.
Thank you.
Can you also do the first badge in pic 1, as it does look rather large.

hi, i have been trying to find the formation badge worn by 61 (south lancashire rgt) search light rgt . R.A. ( T.A). 432-434 batteries, H.Q. st.Helens. I believe they where in W.Lancs area / WESTERN COMMAND in 1939,but dont know if they would have worn the badge of 4 A.A.Div or the
western command, if either.from 44 they would i think have worn the archer
badge adopted by units of air defence,in 47 they where part of 4 A.A. group
as 596 L.A.A.rgt.any help would be appreciated. iain

The batteries of 61 SL Regt RA (TA) wore the Prince of Wales plume and motto on a different coloured background.

432 Bty Salmon Buff, 433 Bty Maroon, 434 Bty Dark Blue.

596 LAA Regt RA (TA) wore a rectangle of vertical bars of Dark Blue, Gold (Yellow), Maroon.

For 8thfoot,
re: Photography of framed and glazed items. A polarizing filter is probably your best bet for eliminating glare. An SLR is essential so you can see the effect as you rotate the filter. It can also give you more saturated colors.

MGC- Thanks ,I am just too lazy to unscrew the frames off the walls and open them up , take photos, and then repeat the whole process in reverse. I will wait till I need to open the frames to re arrange the items or add other items, but your advice is much appreciated.

Thanks again
Peter

No mention of an individual badge for this unit in Westlake. As you may know 596th had an arm flash -rectangle divided vertically into three equal bars-dark blue, gold and maroon. ( Westlake fig 175 )

Gentlemen, Can anyone explain why this patch is so different to all others I've seen purporting to be 8th A.A. Div.? As a repro., it surely doesn't show any skill by the maker, or could it have been made as a trial? ( I believe the corners of the tan coloured backing linen(?) were cut off because of glue residue). Background is ¼ inch squared paper for size comparison. Regards, DJ.

Hello, I was just wondering whether this formation badge, absolutely a mistery to me, could have anything in common with your Anti Aircraft Div. one...

Silk Embroidered variant - I don't know if they came in facing pairs:

A red Swallow tailed cross in the centre of a diving black aircraft with a single tailplane all on a light blue background.
I have a couple of variants - one EonF and the other Eon Linen - both have a more conventional red 8 pointed star and the aircraft's tailplane leading edge is not swept back. It also has clipped wings.
