Tony.
The black acorn lace is worn on the Rifles Officers cap.

I had a go...e of Notts ACF band and bugles. Theres one interesting image where a senior officer is wearing a similar cap. Unfortunately ,i cant tell what the cap badge is or what device is on the front of his crossbelt. He could well be a Robin Hoods badged Officer

The band wore the original uniforms of the Robin Hood Rifles, some over 100 years old. The wife of a sergeant (he was ex Pioneer Sergeant of 1WFR) very kindly resewed the uniforms as the only issue with them, 100 years on, was the stitches were rather tired.
When Captain Shakespeare retired from 87 Signals Squadron they polayed at his dining out.
The band wore the Rifle Pattern full dress hat.

Default Robin Hoods

My father was a Robin Hood, I remember his peaked cap looked 'similar' to this (although I cannot remember the patterning).

I also remember that they wore black rifles buttons.

Additionally, they wore silver AA beret badges - certainly in BD.

I am sure I have a couple of Robin Hood photos somewhere including a photo from the 'Post' showing the Gommecourt Day parade at the castle.

I shall try and dig them out if anyone is interested.

Chris

Default Photo Robin Hoods 1960s

Attached photo of some Robin Hoods at Annual Camp 1960s - 350 (The Robin Hood Foresters) Field Squadron, Royal Engineers.

I used to have a stable belt but it went missing after many moves.
