My Grand Father's Polish Uniform.
Hi.
Thanks everyone for allowing me onto the forums. I have recently unearthed some photos, from my ( late) grand-father's collection. He was sent to Narvik where apparently he fought with some distinction. Clearly as you can see he was in, I am assuming the Polish Free Army. After the war and during later years, he refused to talk about his experiences which we of course, as a family we respected. I really would like to more about his uniform, rank, there is lanyard which I would like to know more about. If anyone of you good people could help me, I would be very grateful. Many thanks (in advance) Tristan |

The lanyard is that awarded by the Free Polish Forces to all those who fought at Narvik in 1940. Others will no doubt enlarge on this.

Thank you for your reply Jon. I was surprised by the quality of his uniform. Would you know what rank he was please ?

Hi Tristan, you could try the Sikorski Institute in London. They are usually very helpful and may have his service record, best wishes Mike
