Default WRNS Anti-aircraft Rating

Hello

Can I get an opinion on this badge? It feels very new. The back appears to be paper.

Many thanks

I have seen a few in that condition. I would say, going by the construction, its a right one.

Thanks for your opinion, much appreciated

It always bothers me a little when an old badge turns up in such mint condition. I guess an unissued batch has turned up.

Hi Andy
If this is an old badge, what capacity would a WREN have been in, in order to qualify as an AA rating, seeing as they were in non-combatant roles?
Cheers,
Alex

Hello Alex,

I understand that WRNS were used on Naval Air Station as anti aircraft gunners as the war progressed.
