Default Strange RN Officer's Cap badge (maybe)

Saw this one on ebay - it sure does not look like an RN Officer's cap badge to me - at least none that I am familiar with - but then we all know there are strange & weird items that appear on ebay......

& the asking price is just insane!

Starting bid: US $2,000.00
Approximately C $2,021.60

Actually this one looks to me like a modern poorly made repo with the crown incorrect - but I could be all wrong - perhaps its another nation - however I put it on the forum to get members opinions....

Lots of differences between the ebay and Dutch badge in Jo's link. Can't recall a Dutch badge with coloured jewels and the oval around the anchor.

Rgds,

Thomas.

I went by the shape of the "palm leave" to suggest a similar cap badge. The one badge in the link seems way older than the one shown by RCN,looks like it was made yesterday.

Thanks mates definitely differences in the cap badges, ie: different leaves, no circle surrounding the anchor. I would agree that ebay example I posted is a repro.

I have copied the photo from the Netherlands Navy site Jo has mentioned for comparison...
