Default Help identify irish badge

Hi,

I am hoping somebody can help identify this badge I came across recently. I believe it is a Georgian badge for the 87th Regiment of Foot. Not sure if it is a helmet badge or a pouch badge.

Many Thanks
John

John,

A lovely looking badge, but if my eyes dont deceive me its made of cloth & bullion?

If so its not a helmet plate or pouch plate which were metal.

If I am seeing it correctly it is more likely to be the device worn on Horse Furniture, namely the Shabracque or Holster Covers.

best wishes
