Hi Mike,

Torin cap for the King's Regiment. Missing the Fleur de Lis badge. I think because the discolouration pattern an Other Ranks type. Anodised badge on dark green patch would be the one.

Clay may be able to more precise but I think from around 1958 when the Kings Liverpools and the Manchester Regiment amalgamated right up to the regiment becoming part of the Dukes of Lancasters Regiment in 2004.

It is some time since I had one of these caps and I think mine was all red, but the one in this picture, also Kings , appears to have the dark coloured crown.

In the MHS Special Number 2002 "Coloured Field Service Caps- Infantry " by Glover, he mentions the Kings Regiment officers Torin cap as having Maroon body and Curtain and Green crown.

Hi, thanks again. So if it was Kings then what time frame could it have been worn? Thanks in advance, Mike
