RCD shoulder flashes
It has been a while since my last post and thought I would post this just for fun.
Some of my rarer SWW RCD shoulder flashes. |

Another nice set. The 5 CAD patches are very hard to find. The top was the authorized pattern. The bottom one is the pattern made up by using the shoulder title. The RCD's never wore the printed title. It was not the correct colours and it was not approved by the regiment.

Hi Bill,
The printed RCD flash seems very hard to find since it was never official approved and correct me if I am wrong large numbers of them were never made or if they were made never distributed. |

Hi Ron, The second point is what I believe to be correct. The contract was let based on the order of battle of armed recce regt, but they were not taken into wear. They may be boxes of them sitting somewhere.

Here is an RCD flash that I believe was manufactured at the end of the war in the UK. Other than this one (and one other) in my collection, the only others I have seen were in a veteran's scrap book. I do not recall seeing any being worn in Dave Muralt's pictorial history.

Hi Phil, I have one as well. Here are some of my RCD titles. The pattern with the embroidered border is a starch back.
