Wessex Volunteers Stable Belt Badge

Hi just thought this my be of interest to we few, we happy few who collect such badges.
This is a gold anodized Wessex regiment badge with lugs north and south. It was designed to fit onto the first pattern stable belt plate introduced in 1969. The plate it's self was 72mm high and caused problems for the wearer when sitting. It was replaced by a smaller belt and plate 57mm high. The badge used on that belt was the standard cap badge with slider. This belt continued to be worn by the 1st Battalion after the formation of the 2nd Battalion in 1971. The latter adopting a different stable belt.

I agree Bess,you know how hard it is to find belt buckle badges to more mainstream regts.

I have it on both size belts for definite ,Think that I may have a badge on one of the boards
