Anyone with a particular interest in the Kings Regiment is welcome in my private Facebook group “ The Kings Liverpool Regiment ( 1685-1958 )” but there are also lots of pictures and information about the 6th Kings ( Liverpool Rifles ) here on the Forum. P.

Thanks for the info I will pass it on to the mother in law.
Plus whilst looking at the pictures I realised that I have 2 sets of these. I thought they were to do with the liverpool buses as they belonged to my dads uncle. Always learning. |

This badge was authorised in March 1908 by the W Lancs TF Association. The WO didn't take much notice of TF badges until; 1915. They then authorised it as Pattern no 599/1915. The WO ordered 3,000 of this Pattern.
The next year they renumbered it with a four digit Pattern number to bring it up to all other badges - Pattern 9142/1916. It's difficult to differentiate between with the dates but I can tell you that there are five dies - including (marked) Lambourne. Its last iteration was a (marked) Gaunt made batch of 3,228 made between 1944-5. Probably used by cadets ? - up to the 1960s ? Last edited by KLR; 28-04-21 at 09:40 AM. |
