Picked up another one, on left. Appears to be from a different die. And looks to be brass rather than GM, like the original badge in the post, on right. The badge on the left may have been silver plated, when the brooch pin was fitted.

Bear in mind that the same badge was worn by the London Irish Rifles and its Rifle Volunteer forebears. Although latterly worn in white metal, there was also a period when a blackened brass version was worn. However, sliders were the normal configuration for fixture. The crown is bigger but I'm unsure if it was with a QVC. Perhaps there never was a QVC version? John will know if there was.

I think the Irish Constabulary have to be taken into consideration as well.

The pre-London Regiment London Irish have always been a puzzle to me. I've seen small collar sized QVC badges being touted as London Irish RV field service cap badges but does anyone even know what type of hear dress they wore?

Also Toby, I don't think your badge is 18th London, it has fretted out harp strings which are incorrect unless adapted in which case it's likely to be Police.

The London Irish badge did not have a void below the crown.

That badge is the common London Irish fake but with the strings fretted out. I’ve seen a few like that but not too many by comparison to the masses with solid strings. Sometimes the fakers do go to a bit of extra effort as I’ve seen this with the common fake Connaught Rangers too. Unless I’m mistaken the badge pictured is the one for sale inn Cultman presently.

Here’s the badge pictured in the Martin Marsh catalogue. Also a WM badge from the same die with the 15mm Gaunt.London mark.

Like Keith I too have seen small harps with QVCs sold as London Irish fsc’s, they were similar to the centrepiece of the HP. As to what was worn it’s a mystery but I’d love to know.

I have these two, titled as possible London Irish RV. The large one has screw threads so likely to be a belt or pouch badge. Even that badge is debatable as I think it was also worn by one of the Irish Yeomanry units in South Africa.

Has anyone got/ever seen a 16th Middx RV helmet plate with the KC on the harp and top or a KC pattern of the small badge I've posted?

I believe the long narrow harp is a LIR pouch badge. Also worn on the sabretache. The other badge was the subject of an enquiry on the forum many years ago, it was never positively identified. There is a squat QVC badge with voided strings, said to be a LIR pork pie cap badge.
