Default RMLI detector find

A friend found this seversl years ago with a detector at Kimmel Bay , North Wales.Any comments??

What was it 'buried' in? cotton wool from a re-strike factory.

It looks a bit rough, I've had a look at the several examples and variations I have and think it may not be right! Perhaps a disgruntled collector threw it in the sea?

I'll post some images for you in the morning, so that you can draw your own conclusion!
