It looks like the All Ranks sleeve badge which was inherited from the 4/7 RDG on amalgamation.

Agree with Marc looks like a more modern example Earlier the centre is flatter later centre more domed. Size 50mm diameter

If for badge
Surely it is the same designs the current RDG cap badge and is therefore in some way part of the current regiment’s uniform. The all ranks 4/7DG sleeve badge was diamond shaped with internal chevron markings in purple, gold and navy blue cloth.
