Laurence Archer Notes
Hi
I am new to the forum but on reading the Laurence Archer posts I wonder if the Gordon’s badge example posted below is an example of the ‘yellow metal’ issues reproductions referred to in these notes. I have the badge down as a fake primarily due to the appearance of the back but never could quite get to grips with the yellowing. I have posted 2 images of the front to try and show the yellowing clearly. Any views appreciated Thanks |

It’s not an official issue badge, it’s a cast copy hence the impure white colour. Cast copies were made in Far East theatres particularly India and Egypt but could also be made exactly the same way last week. Regards

It appears to be a locally cast example.
I have a number of them in yellowish metal, but the lugs on your badge don't have the typical Indian/North African appearance. |
