Default WWI trade badges

I have picked these up over the last few years for my own collection and just wanted to confirm if they are WWI era and exactly what are the trades?

The flags are signals, the gun I am told is for a maxim machine gunner and the scissors I am unsure of. Regimental tailor?

Hi Bill,

No I have not talked to him. I am not sure who he is?
Name sounds a little familiar. Is he from southern Ontario and wrote a book about trade badges?

Hi Ron,

Army Museum of Western Australia have a brass scissors badge in their collection they believe represents tailor however although it was a trade there was no badge approved for it in the Australian Army and we generally followed UK practices in this regard up until the start of the Second World War.
