Brilliant, I bet he was full of 'Gas Gas Gas'!

Well, that was a complete waste of time trying to go to the link shown. Reddit! Another load of crap to download? No thanks. I’ll stay in the dark! D.J.

Two Noddy suits a pair of scissors and an economy roll of gaffer tape would've solved that problem.

There was a second BALO (the 7 Bde HQ had the luxury of a full alternate HQ including staff from 4Bde) . he was normal size. however about 54 years old and did not last long in the desert before they sent him off somewhere less tiring.

This is true! Apparently after Telic 1 the RAF BALOs were no longer drawn from long serving career Flt Lts pilots or navigators and replaced by RAF Regt officers!

Oh my, it does seem to lack in presenting the proper image for such a great institution!

Fortunately our army did not go that route, but has returned to an updated version of the WW2 Pinks and Greens.

Shocking, but the new RAF Medic uniform has some potential.

Hats off to the US Army as the switch back to tradition is masterful. Now may I suggest the beret needs to go next? No offence but few US troops wear it well!

I read some while back that the US Army was phasing out berets for most units as they were unpopular and when it rained wearing a beret was like wearing a wet sock on your head.
American beret shaping reminds me of the RM style back in the 1970's

Not many British soldiers do now!

Alan, No offense taken. I agree, and only certain special units should be allowed to wear it. The new uniform seems to have brought back the fore and aft cap - another old war look.

I doubt that Army SF's and the Rangers are going to give up berets.

Just to squash the media frenzy, this was a 1st DRAFT from a designer about 2 years ago. Some idiot found it on the official-sensitive system and decided to leak it. There have been several iterations since and even now no firm decision has been made. I sit on the RAF Uniform and Dress Steering Group and those early designs haven’t even reached that forum yet.
