Default Monte Cassino Cross Numbered 3779

The Monte Cassino Cross awarded to the mystery Polish Serviceman whose box of "bring backs" I purchased this week. The Cross is numbered 3779 which was from the number block allocated to the 3rd (Carpathian) Division. Is there a listing anywhere to identify the recipient of this cross ? (pictured as acquired pinned to a British/Polish medal ribbon bar)
Any help appreciated !

Yes, a black Wounds badge in excellent condition and a Silver Luftwaffe Fighter clasp (it may be a night fighter clasp with the blacking worn off but looks to be the remnants of black on the wreath)

Hi Pl,
Have you tried the medal forum? If you haven't I can post it there if you wish- they have answered a couple of these cross queries in the past couple of weeks,
Gary

My dad bombed Monte Cassino. He always said he hated that mission but knew it might help.

Write or email the Archavist at the Polish Institute and Sikorski Museum in London as they hold a roll of recipients of the Monte Cassino Crosses.

The museum is a great place to visit and the staff are most helpful.

Please remember to include a donation with the enquiry as the museum is dependent on the generosity of others.

Paul,
Had my reply - quite a few records are digitised but the 3rd Carpathian Rifles isn't as yet. The very helpful people there suggest the warrelics forum as some people have the list privately held. Sadly I'm not a member on that forum, Gary
