Definitely post war, in-fact the last style metal collar badges produced before the introduction of the AA versions. Possibly this is what attracted the collector to them as collar badges generally (with this style of fastener) seem to be much harder to find than the older double loop/lug types. Without diversifying to far, as an example I have around 10 pairs and a number of singles on double loop/lug collars to the ERY, but it has taken me 3 years of looking to get 2 single examples (to make up my pair) with this single fastener, the one I recently got was described by the dealer as a pouch badge (which it definitely was not). I can also say the same with my West Yorks stuff, I have had dozens and dozens of other ranks bi metal Prince of Wales's plumes collar badges on double loop/lugs but have only ever seen 3 or 4 on this style of single fastener in all the years I have been collecting to this Regiment. So I suppose if the winner of the collars in the original post specializes in collecting to the Norfolk Regiment its not a great price to pay to fill a gap in his collection. Cheers, M |
