Hate to disagree with Mike but the armoured car driver is Cpl 'Smoke' O'Connor. The joke - commented on earlier in the film - is that he is an Irishman serving in the Welsh Guards.

Nice to see a film where the actors really look like soldiers and are wearing properly-fitted uniforms.

Shermans equipped most of the battalions in the GAD _ an exception being 2 WG which as Div Armd Recce Regt had Cromwells. So the film is partially right - and a bit wrong. Apologies to Cpl O'Connor for mistaking him for a Welshman. The actor Michael Trubshawe ("Bushey") actually served in the HLI. Mike
