i think so!
in my opinion, all sand cast badges without provenance are suspect. if we are talking bosleys next auction lot 19 Australian Camel Corps WW1 scarce unofficial brass slouch hat badge. Locally sand-cast. Rising Sun bearing camel, 3 loops im not a fan of camel corps SLOUCH HAT size badges and even more dubious of any australian badge particularly rising sun type with 3 LUGS. lot 20 could be ok but unless i got it from the digger who wore it and rode the camel im suspicious lot 21& 22 as previously stated. they don't conform to the genuine items i've seen. as for the aussie camel corps badges, i have no doubt they were sand cast in egypt or wherever in WW1 however the only genuine items i have seen, owned by 3 different families (so with impeccable provenance), have been the thin metal pressed examples and all collar size. bc |

Lot 21 versus a genuine New Zealand Imperial Camel company badge, I rest my case.
