Hi there guys

It would seem that from another thread that this in not a UK Air Training Corps wing. Any chance of it being Australian?

Kind regards

Doug

I don't think it's Canadian either. There isn't anything in this manual, not to say that it might turn up somewhere else. Still looking!

Nothing in Dress Regs either. I don't think it can be a cadet organization.

My inclination is leading towards Australian since this website refers to the Australian Air Cadets as AirTC.

Default AirTC Para half wing

Hi there David

I tend to agree with you. The Canadian cadets seem to do parachuting in the army cadets, not the air force cadets. The Australian Army and Air Force Cadets (formerly AirTC), both have parachute wings for the cadets but I am not too sure about the instructors. To be an official wing (compared to productions in the past of pilots and navigators in the Air TC), it seems overly done with the enamel effect - most of the wings in the past have been white metal.

Regards

Doug

I think I can confirm that it's not Canadian. David, I can't access you link, but I willing to bet that it shows the Cadet half-wing worn by No. 2981 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps. This badge has the wing facing to the wearer's right, with a red enamel Maple Leaf at the base of an open parachute's risers.

Checked 'Lord & Tennant' and nothing pops up. However, the subject badge looks awfully similar to the regular Army PJI badge, so maybe a private manufacture by a Cadet instructor?
