early OSD cap badges with loops/lugs

I would be grateful if anyone knows of exmples of early (pre 1914) OSD cap badges with loops/lugs.
I know there are often cap and collar badges that are the same size or design, but there are plenty - eg KLR - that are'nt !
I have what I think is an early (1896 Pattern - yes I know OSDs came in 1902 but the Pattern is 1896 !) ) KLR OSD cap badge with NS loops and it would be nice to find comparanda.

I think that this may be along the lines of your enquiry, I may be wrong!

I'm not too sure of the date of this badge it may be pre Service Dress but it is possibly an officers badge.

I don't have an OSD with this sort of fitmments, but I do have a Northant's Regt officers silver & gilt cap badge of this sort. I have been told, but have no evidence, that pre-WW1 there was a commercially available officer's cap with a folding crown. It flattened without crushing. This sort of fitment was designed so the hook could be released allowing the cap to be flattened.
This is one of those mysteries I've meant to take to the IWM and never found time for. perhaps somebody can produce this folding cap.

OSD cap badges are indeed found with Lugs/Loops, but blades are by far the most common.
I believe the general idea was that once a badge had been fitted to the cap, there was no need to remove it as it did not require polishing, thus blades.
With regard to officer's caps with collapsing crowns, I have two examples!
They are very common to find not only on pre ww1 caps but on early post war as well.
The front stiffener or support for the crown is hinged just above head band section to afford a small reduction in the height of the crown when collapsed for ease in packing.
The badge remains in place as it the hinge is above it and does not interfere in any way.
