North Western Railway Regiment
Amongst a large quantiy of cap badges I have just been given that belonged to my late uncle I have found a pair of collar dogs to the above Regiment.
As all the others were Canadian I presumed that this was as well. So far I have had no luck finding anything about the Regiment and wondered if anyone on the forum had any knowledge of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Arnhem |

NW Railway Volunteer Rifles
Hi Arnhem
The North Western Railway Volunteer Rifles were an Indian Volunteer Unit in the First World War. I don't have any further details of their formation or what happened to them after the conflict. Did they become the NW Railway Rgt? Their cap badge appears in Military Badges of the British Empire 1914-18 by Reginald H.W.Cox Badge number 2687 I don't have this book anymore. But if you post a photograph of your Rgt badge. I might be able to find a similarity with the Vol Rifle badge that I have on a photostat copy of the page from the book. An idea. Alan. |
