Default Opinions por favor

I like the look of these pristine unissued WW2 RA shoulder titles, albeit not a matched pair as they seem to be different sizes.

However, I’m no expert as you know , and would very much welcome your opinions as to authenticity - are they too good?

I also can’t make my mind up as to whether they’re navy blue, which I’d prefer, or black, but I can ask the seller that if I decide to go further.

Thanks.

I think they are the same size, if one is put on top of the other.
But in my opinion I would not buy them as they look to "good" to be original but it is your choice.

They look perfectly fine to me and identical to ones my dad was issued but never used in 1947 during National Service

I'd agree with Padre, they look fine to me, just an unissued and unworn pair (I'd also guess that laid on top of each other, they are same size !)

They will be the same size, it’s an optical illusion called the Jastrow illusion as demo-ed here with my boy’s Brio train track.

I agree they are good as I have just received a nice used pair from a forum member.

Thanks everyone, really appreciate your help.

The Jastrow illusion is something I’d not heard of before, most interesting.

It’s not what they “look” like, it’s what they measure! If one measures the distance from the top left corner of the “R” to the outer top right of the “Y”, the distance is greater by about .070” inches on the bottom one of the two titles (on my laptop screen). Having said that, one should remember that parallax comes into play in photographing such items at close range. For my money, I would gamble that they are in fact a matching pair! You can prove that assumption by photocopying the two items in the same lay-out once you receive them. Regards, D.J.

Thanks for this, I shall give that a try when they arrive.

They arrived today and are indeed a matching pair, exactly the same dimensions as you all said.

I photographed them in the same way as they had appeared online and experienced my very own Jastrow effect, as you can see, and then photocopied them.

Gentlemen, it has been an enjoyable education, thank you.
