Default 71st Regiment Fraser's Highlanders Cartridge Box Badge

Hello. I am a new member and live in NC USA. I found this badge today at a local flea market. I researched it and found out it appears to be a 71st Regiment of Foot Fraser's Highlanders from the American Revolutionary War. It appears to me to be a dug example that has been repurposed as a pin. Being I am in the Carolina's and only a few kilometers from Cowpens SC where this regiment fought it would not surprise me if this was dug locally and that is how it ended up in the flea market. I thought I would join and ask the experts on this site their thoughts on its originality. Thank you in advance.
