Default Earliest Royal Marines button

Hello all
Finding out for friend.
What's the earliest recorded Royal Marines button please?
And does anyone have a picture of one please?

The earliest royal marine infantry buttons didn't have the royal marines name on them that started in 1801. the link mentioned doesnt show those earliest ones which were silver for officers and pewter for other ranks.

They were a different design to the one shown as officer, 1767?
(I thought the one shown was of silver, a closer look suggests a yellow metal?)

These are the marine infantry buttons pre 1801. I would suggest getting don troiani excellent book as well insignia of independence he has a good write up on them on page 113
