Default Commonwealth War Graves - "Hands On"

With the easing of lockdown restrictions I've now had my online "training" on cleaning the CWGC headstones and I've done my first "solo" work in Clevedon Cemetery today. There are 8 war graves in the cemetery all WW2 and all with CWGC headstones. 6 were in good condition and required little or no maintenance but two were on the edge of the cemetery and completely overgrown - I thought I'd share some before and after pictures with you.

Well done that man, all credit to you. It's just a shame that the graves were allowed to get in that state in the first place.

Well done, my daughter got her D of E sign up through today and there's a section there on volunteer/ community type work, I think your post came at the right time to provide her with an avenue to explore and some inspiration. Excellent work.

Default Frederick Chamberlain Gloucester Regt

Visited the grave of Corporal Frederick Chamberlain today - 4th Btn Gloucestershire Regt - it's a private memorial and the only war grave in the cemetery - I bit overgrown and in danger of being pushed over by the tree branches and taken over by the ivy. I'm hoping I've cracked how to show the photos the right way up too ! ( Bloody Apple iphone quirk ! )

This clutch pin badge arrived in a small job lot I picked up , I'm guessing it is a 'commemorative / souvenir' item rather than an official badge.
