Default Help Identify Button

I wonder if anyone knows which Regiment this button belonged to ? Also, what period it was from?
Unfortunately as a Button it's been destroyed and made into a brooch. There's also no makers name on the back.

It's the Durham Light Infantry. Period anything up to the 1950s - but possibly WW2. Looks like an officer quality button (finished back). It hasn't been 'destroyed'; sweethearts like this are not uncommon - just a different form of badge.
