Default Queen's Royal Regiment GS Cap and titles

Hi there,

I would like to have your opinions on the GS cap specially and the patches.
Seller is saying 1943 date and 7 1/2 size.
I can see the arrow of the stamp at the bottom, the maker can be J.Collett LTD or A & J Gelfer (looks more like this one with the ER), and maybe I can see LONDON. I can't see the date though.

I don't know anything about the Queen's Royal Regiment badge and titles with it. And the 7TH armoured division desert rat. Are they original ww2 and period ?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Best

The lamb is facing the wrong way for a cap badge? Have you reversed the image or is it a collar badge?

The Queen's badge is definitely a collar badge and facing the wrong way for cap use as Alan mentioned. The cap itself is genuine, if a bit mildewed. The shoulder title I believe is early post war; the 7th sign may be late ww2 issue, but these were worn for some time after the war as well.

Thanks guys.
@Alan: I haven't reversed anything it's the photos the seller sent me. I might have done it.

@cbuehler: ok thanks. Yes it looks quite dirty, thought it was only dirt of sweat but it might be mould which is not very good for future preservation.

Did the Queen's had anything to do with the 7th ? or maybe the soldier joined one and then the other.

The 131st Queen's Brigade consisting of the 1/5, 1/6 and 1/7 Bns. did serve with the 7th AD in WW2.

Interesting. Thanks.
So they did Tunisia, Italy, and even Normandy, then Germany.
Were the two titles worn together ?

The Queen's cloth shoulder title & the desert rat cloth badge are post war. The desert rat is german made.

I'm not sure of the correct spelling but is that brabant weave exclusively a german way of manufacture? I cant recall seeing it anywhere on any badges made in the only on german formation signs, such as the following, which id be interested in knowing if it is original

See here for an earlier thread, and an album that shows some member's examples.

The back seems quite different from Luc's exemple:
https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ctureid=114403

But good question how do you know it is german made and post war ?
The Queen title I quite get it as it looks the same kind of backing as some post war pegasus patch I have seen before.
