Indian made cast badges
These two crude badges were destined for the bin, but I checked and the 9th Middx were sent to India in 1914, so this could be made for them. I have had cast Indian made R SIGs badges before but they were manufacturer marked on the slider. The sliders are made of a metal that I cannot bend easily. Any one else think they are theatre made?

Impossible to be sure about these. I would feel comfortable with the R. Sigs, but the Die Hards looks a bit iffy. It could still be a period piece however.

The RSigs looks fine but the Middlesex badge is very crude even for a theatre made example. Compare my 6-piece construction badge.

Thanks for the replies. If the Middx is a cast theatre made badge then it looks to me it has been cast from an original lugged badge. The stubs where the lugs have been cut off are reproduced on the copy.

My opinion with India made badges and other theater made cast badges unless you can be very sure it is a fake I consider it worth keeping. You can always bin it later if you find for sure it's a bad one.
