Default Gordon Highlanders and Grenadier Guards Opinions Please

Opinions please on these two badges.

My concerns are as follows:-

Gordon Highlanders has been struck using a broken die as is shown in picture 2 resulting in a blank scroll end. Is this a known defect on good badges?

Grenadier Guards has a lightweight tapered slider. Is this correct. Got to say it looks better in the picture than it looks in hand.

Thoughts please

Eric
