I dont have a picture, but there is actually no way to determine whether a given OSD badge was made during ww1, before or after.
Unlike some OR's badges, dating OSD badges is impossible in most cases due to the variations in makers and types of blades or lugs.
The colour of badges also varies from a light chocolate brown to virtually black.
One must remember that these badges were not produced for nor supplied by the WD and were private purchase only.
So in essence, any photo of a given genuine Leinster OSD badge will be that of just one variation only and may provide no definite information as to what one should or should not look like.
Sorry I was so long winded here, but I am assuming you wish to see some examples before making a possible purchase?

CB,

Many thanks. I should have been a little more precise and said pre 1922 Original OSD badges. I would like to see some examples before buying.

Merry Christmas

This is the cap badge to Major Wilfred Powell, with a slightly different arrangement of blades.

Many thanks for the pictures-I now know what I am looking for-am I correct in saying that the collar and cap badges are the same size?

Happy New Year Mark

Hi Mark. Yes they are both the same size, collar badges have lugs, you will often see these being passed of as cap badges.
