The Ultimate Welsh Guards Badge?

Hi all,
came across this image on Google.
It shows a Life Magazine cover dated 1947, entiled 'The Duke of Windsor Begins his own story of, 'A Royal Boyhood'.
Is the headgear with the handsome Welsh Guards Badge a Foreign Service Helmet ?
Also the helmet has what looks like a tricolour feather hackle?
This has to be the Holy Grail for any Welsh Guards collectors. I wonder if these items are held in collections anywhere?

I recall seeing this years ago and always wondered whether this was a one-off or whether it was a 'standard' officers type. Andy might know the answer.....?

Got a photo of my uncle which shows the OR's badge fitted to the helmet.

Am I correct in thinking that the badge illustrated on HRH's FSH would appear to be a gilded version of the standard ORs' badge for the FSH?
If so, it still leaves the authenticity of the enamelled variant open to question. As you have never seen an example of the enameled version in use and I have seen too many come up on eBay for comfort I am minded to keep this pattern (enamelled that is) in the highly dubious box.

Badge looks to me like the enamelled version, but the photo is'nt definative,

Having looked closer I doubt if the two badges in my album are anyway near the quality of the one in that helmet? Neither would I be suprised if it were a "One Off" as this is not a common form of Welsh Guards Officers headdress?
