Default Royal Garhwal Rifles -- is this OK?

I've had a similiar hallmarked badge may years ago but sold it..thinking of buying again but somehow this doesn't seem right...the detail on the front is not as sharp as it should be and the reverse is almost like a cast badge, even with the hallmark..something not quite right I think...Ive seen a few hallmarked fakes so a little concerned ...opinions please

I can't comment on this badge but there are or was a few years back a load of MGC Gold & Silversmiths Company hallmarked fakes going around at a few fairs

It seems to have come from the large Indian Army badge collection that was sold at auction recently. Barry seems to have purchased quite a few of the lots.

See these examples from an earlier thread.
Cheers Tony.

It may be all right but I'm not very happy about the reverse of the badge..the finishing is not up to the mark somehow..maybe a one-off thing..

I had a similar hallmarked badge some 10 years ago when I was not collecting badges ..got in on ebay India (now dead) for the equivalent of 10 gbp and sold it later locally. But it was in much better condition and overall a beautiful badge though quite tiny..just about an inch overall.

Barry has some good stuff up on ebay..but I've more or less stopped buying badges though I can be tempted if I can get them cheap!
