Default Opinion required on Tyneside Irish badge

Any thoughts on this one? I know it's a s/t so it's not my area and will offer it for sale on the Forum if it's genuine.

compare to Tyneside Irish's badge. They do not appear to be similar.

Tyneside’s badge from the front looks to be a Reid & Co made one which is the Rolls-Royce of these badges.

Not the best picture Alan but I’ll try...

Note the point where the harp first makes contact with the scroll on the viewers left is noticeably very fine. That’s quite unusual with this badge, most dies have a more robust join. It does however look very similar to this one on a slider https://www.relicmilitaria.com/produ...rca-1914-1918/ . They also both appear to have similar crowns and the shapes of internal scroll turns matches up too.

All in all given it matches one on a slider (when we know they weren’t cap badges) I’d have serious doubts about this one and wouldn’t buy it myself, sorry.
