Hi Alex
Its a Gaunt , early 1970s, SP. It is a brass base... thats nickel plated and then silver plated. DO NOT pay £60 plus..... its not that rare and its only a light weight SP Silver Plate (Long Looped E/W) NSN 8455-99-130-3056

I know not a lot about these badges but I've heard of a line across the forehead die flaw on some motoes, is that the diagonal line shown on this badge? |

Some images in natural light, as requested. Not sure if they're any better.

Presumably not as the mark I was referring to doesn't appear in the more recent images.

Leigh.... in the case of the Gaunt (the post 1960) a scar will be seen on the top left bone end. This is a good visual indicator for this motto. There are good and bad scars in the Motto.... depending on the maker.
