Default LUOTC large anodised badge

I have at last managed to photograph the rear of the large LUOTC anodised cap badge which are attached.

Made with lugs north and south and sadly now " repaired" ( not by me ) with araldite, but still an example of a rare badge

Nice to see the back of this one. Are we sure the lugs are original ? Can't tell about the N one but you might be able to see whether the S one is.
If original it may have been made specificaly for a beret rather than a cap.
The style is certainly that of the Gaunt's bimetal ones.

Default Luotc

This is indeed a rare badge from what you say Peter, the loops have been araldited in place and as far as I am concerned this is the only way to repair anodised badges. If any forum member can tell me how to repair staybrites without the use of epoxy resins I would be grateful, as this is the only method I use, and it is not easy. I have a North Irish Horse QC to re-repair as the loops fell off soon after my efforts.

Hi P.B
I have recently spoken to a fellow collector who has shown me the large Kings Regt / Liverpool UOTC a/a cap badge in question. This indeed is a very scarce badge
Best Regards

Default liverpool uotc large anodised

Hi P.B
Please see pic attatched - these are similar fittings that would have originally been on your large Liverpool a/a badge.
This i.m.o would make the large a/a badge questionable wether it was a cap badge or maybe something completely different?.
Best Regards
UKbrits

I have never seen these fittings on any British army cap badge but only on shoulder titles and rank badges. If this badge was used on a cap then it was not an official issue cap badge.

Alan

I have attached a few pictures of a 13th/18th Hussars badge I have which has also got the cluch pin fittings on the rear. I have had this for about 5 years and it came on a card of about 10 A/A badges which had all got blade fittings apart from this one.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of one of these - in (almost) any condition, I'm very keen to acquire one !

The use of lugs and not a slider would suggest to me that it is not a cap badge. Possibly it is a badge for a belt buckle?
