An article states :

"The WJAC followed courses on aircraft recognition, basic aviation and other air related subjects."

So possibly the 'A' is for passing one of the courses ?

Thanks (that actually occurred to me but I thought there was a bit of a contradiction - "Women's" and "Junior").
