Hi Martyn,

Both the badge and the helmet plate look good, the badge is of a nice striking with signs of service, soft polishing visible on the thistles which is the norm for this badge. The helmet plate appears genuine and of the period, all round a nice piece.
Cheers
Hiram

Many thanks Hiram. I've had it a while and forgot about it. I only found out again tonight.

All the best

It isn't "Kings own Scottish Horse" though.

Thank you. That's a useful and interesting site, much appreciated. And sorry I used the wrong title.

Martyn,

I was saying nothing, best way to learn is to observe your badge etc closely by yourself in that way you learn and correct your own mistakes my friend, anyway that said the correct way to layout my regiments title in print is as follows: 'The King's Own Scottish Borderers'

Best
Hiram
